Photography Workshop
Learning how to use your DSLR camera in Manual Mode.
If you look on your camera – you will find the letter M.
This “M” stands for Manual Mode it expresses creativity, control, and ultimately – confidence. Confidence is knowing how to use your camera to its fullest.
What you will learn in this class:
• To gain an understanding of the relationship between the aperture and the shutter speed for exposure control.
• Understanding depth of field by choice of lens and aperture.
• How to use each of these elements to control the final stage.
Students are asked to bring images that might show a style of photography that interests them. You will learn how and why to find the light and control it. Seeing the image before you capture it is a gift improved by education. Foreground and background are a few of the aspects of what to consider in photography. This class will involve shooting both in the studio and on location.
Field Trip: This is your chance to unleash your new skills! This will be a great time to talk through ideas and discuss how to incorporate your new-found knowledge to achieve the images you desire.
5 Hour Photography Workshop – $550
It is a one on one class
Which means it’s just me and you for 5 hours, and I guarantee that will know how use your camera , and it’s fun:)

Lightroom Class - Learn how to manage your photos and make them pop!
Lightroom for Beginners
Lightroom is the “baby” Photoshop that we use at our Photography Studio on a daily basis.
Here is an overview of what you will learn:
• Properly load and organize your photos.
• Add keywords – to make all your photos easy to find.
• Edit your photos – super fast! (no more 3+ hours lost in computer time).
• Put the “wow” into your photos with color tones, sepia or black and white.
• How to custom create your own filters.
• Quickly remove blemishes.
• Save your newly “wow’d” images on your computer.
• Print single images or collages.
How will this help you in the future?
A few months from now, you will need to print a few pictures of your oldest daughter for her “about me” poster for school. It will be Sunday night. Any of this sounding familiar? How quickly will you find the images? With a few keywords, all of your top images will spring to the screen for you to choose. So, how quickly can you make the collage and print it? In under 5 minutes! (and that is including 2 interruptions! Ha!)

We invite you to our studio in Downtown Knoxville. We specialize in Commercial, Portrait, and Family Photography. In our studio we have plenty of space to hone your photography skills. John will be happy to candidly talk about equipment, lighting, and directing.
In this day and age photographers not only need precise technical skills but also have the ability to market themselves. A few ways to market oneself is through social media, advertising, websites, and word of mouth, just to name a few.
Call the Studio and lets have a chat. By having a heart to heart talk about your specific needs, we can design a custom timeline for your day. The goal is to share with you specific and practical answers. Please take note – you’re the one calling the shots. If you want to discuss marketing + branding only, we can do that. Or you would like to concentrate on photography – shooting, lighting, etc – we can do that as well. You’re the one that is in charge of the day. We will take coffee breaks and treat you to lunch. We feel that the best way to learn isn’t by staring at a Power Point presentation in a classroom. We have comfy couches. Our lab “Mollie” is always around and flip-flops are a standard. With 23 ft tall walls of glass, you will enjoy waving at our neighbors with us. We will grab a coffee, take a walk about, and discuss scouting, relationship building, etc. Our conversations will be frank, unhindered and complete. You will not receive the 2 line answer – we will go in depth about any subject!
Tuition: Half Day – $1,200, Full day – $2200. Two days $3,200. One on one only. Each day is 8 hours long and includes lunch and snacks.
Registration & Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% is due at the time of booking. If for any reason a conflict arises, you may reschedule.
Requirements: Any and all skill-levels are welcome. We will be working on your skills and potential as a photographer with your DSLR camera and all lenses. Be familiar with your camera and be ready to shoot in Manual Mode. If you shoot Canon, I’d be happy to let you use my L-series lenses during the Session. It’s a great way to find out what you want Santa to bring!
You will gain experience and may ask any and all of the questions you may have about starting and maintaining a successful photography business. You will receive real answers to any questions.
This workshop is for photographers who want to improve their photography & maximize their photography business.
